Default Dower Law: Should Wife Have Her Name on Deed

My question involves real estate located in the State of: Michigan

A couple decides to purchase a home in Michigan, a dower state. The husband says there is no need for the wife to have her name on the deed conveying the property because of the state's dower law. Is the husband correct or should the wife have her name on the deed to fully protect her rights and to reflect joint ownership of the property?

And what does 1/3 mean in the dower law...shouldn't it be all of it?

    The actual facts being what?

If you are talking about property the man is selling, it is difficult to imagine that the buyer is not going to want the wife to sign the conveyance.

If you're talking about property being purchased with marital assets as part of the marital estate, and hubby wants everything to be exclusively in his own name, it sounds like it's time for the wife to consult a divorce lawyer.
