Error in ID on Traffic Ticket

My question involves traffic court in the State of: California
I received a ticket for no seat belt. I received a letter in the mail for appearing in court. I tried to reschedule the date online and over the phone, each time respond came back not found. I couldn’t understand why. Finally I noticed the officer wrote my birth date wrong on the ticket. My question is because of this error, is this grounds to contest the ticket and be successful at getting it thrown out?

No, the bad birthdate will not be grounds to have it dismissed.

Appear at the arraignment location on the date and time listed on the citation to make your plea. If you need to reschedule, call them up and do so. But, do not expect a misprinted birthdate to get you off the hook. Unless the age make a difference as to the specific offense, it is not - by itself - going to be an issue that can help you beat the ticket.
