And can you tell me if it will hurt me to now have the seperate checking acct's if it comes down to divorce? or doesn't that really matter?

separate checking accounts won't make any difference other than it makes it easier for him to take money and hide it elsewhere since he can keep his account information away from you.
it has nothing to do with liability for the loan. Signing a deed relinquishes your interest to the grantee. I am not positive that is possible due to the dower laws (haven't read them lately) but you shouldn't do it because if it is possible, you will have relinquished all interest in the home acquired to date.why?
