Is an Officer Required or Allowed to Let Me See My Radar Speed

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: CA
I received a ticket for 22349(B)...61mph in a 45mph posted. First of all, is it coincidental that the officer writes me up for '16 over' the limit to increase the amount of citatation??? Secondly, when I asked to see the radar readout, he declined citing for his protection and he didn't have to.

Now, in the past, I've had officers ask me if I wanted to look at the readout...so which is it? Are we to take their word? They used a device to clock my speed and I'm not able to verify it?

coincidental? If you were driving 61, it's what I would call accurate.

The officer does not have to show you the radar speed. I do not know if there are any departments that prohibit the practice; if there are, that would be where it's not allowed. But no department requires officers to do so. There are man contexts in which that would be unsafe or impractical.
