    Default Violation of Parole

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Virginia

    Hello,

If someone served time in jail and was then on parole and had 2weeks to go, but left the state without PO permission, they obviously have violated their parole, this being 19years ago, What is likely to happen if this person wanted to make things right and turned them-self in?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

    Default Re: Violation of Parole

It depends upon such factors as the nature of the underlying offense, their prior and subsequent criminal history, and the amount of time potentially remaining on their sentence. They would be sensible to work with a lawyer in the county in which they violated their probation to try to work out a disposition in advance.
