I recieved unemployment for about a yr. I was working as a home helper about 20hr/wk i wld tll them WKLY what i was making and they wld just give me a lower amount. In 08/12 almost 3 yrs later they sent me a letter stating i had to repay them 14,000 WTF seriously...how can they GIVE me the money even with me telling truth then turn around and tell me i have to pay it back. My question is im filing bankruptcy and i wanna knw if i can file on this debt!!!

We don't know the basis for their adjustment. You will need to contact them and ask why, as you reported the wages, they believe they overpaid you.

It's possible that your employer reported paying you far more than you reported when you were receiving benefits - which isn't to say that your reports weren't accurate, but if you say you made $XXX and your employer claims on tax documents that you were paid $XXXX their default position will be that it was you who underreported your income, not your employer who overreported what it paid.
