Accident in a Private Parking Lot

My question involves a traffic accident in the State of: Texas
I drove into parking lot of McDonalds and saw tow truck backing up. I stopped as tow truck continued backing. As he continued backing, he came towards the front of my vehicle so I blew the horn and he hits the front of my car. He got out screaming all kind of obscenities but thank God a witness told police the same thing I had told them. After getting statements, the police officer asked for both parties insurance, ticketed other driver and gave me info so I can file a claim.
I contacted my insurance carrier who then sent them and me a copy of police report. Insurance adjuster from other company came out, took pics, said he'd call within 48/hrs, it's been 72/hrs and nothing. I have not been to work as I work in home health and need my vehicle to travel. I have to go to tomorrow morning to rent a vehicle for myself out of pocket. Never dealt with something like this before and don't know what to do next. Please Help!

Did you follow up with them yet, yourself? If so, what did you learn?

No one wants to be a pest, but if they say "You'll hear from us in 48 hours" and an additional day has passed, it's reasonable to place a follow-up call.
