Gaining Full Patent Protection

Hi there,

I'm quite a novice when it comes to IP so any help would be appreciated.

In addition to a design patent which exists on my product, how does one go about to ensure that the concept of the product is not copied, i.e. that the purpose of the product is not duplicated in any way, where and how it is used etc. Basically I'm wondering whether the Design Patent is enough or should I have further IP protection on the product as the concept itself can be duplicated using a different material (for example) and I'd like to avoid that from happening.

You really should be talking to a competent Patent attorney. Patent law is fiddly, and should be handled by a pro.
