Expired Temporary License and Expired Registration

My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: California



I'm not US citizen and I'm here in USA since 9 months and I'm not familiar by the laws and regulations of the traffic at all. I have lived in Florida four months then I have moved to California since five months. My car was registered in Florida but the registration has expired 3 months. I have also temporary CA license and it's expired since 2 months. I stopped by the police and told me that I have been given appointment to appear in court. I am know very scared because my friend told me that it might reach to jail ! Please I need your help Pleeeease!.. What will happen in the court? I drove the car with 3 months registration expired and 2 months license registration and the car is not registered in California and the plates from Florida too.

You should try to find a lawyer who either speaks your language, or who can access a translator to assist you in understanding your charges and rights. You (or your lawyer) should also make sure that the court is aware that you do not have a sufficient understanding of English to proceed without the assistance of a translator.

In the interim, really as soon as you can, get your license reinstated and properly register your vehicle.

What are the exact charges against you - the vehicle code numbers. E.g., 42001.8.
