    Default Repo of a Camper

My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: WV Or PA
I had a camper that was repoed in 2008. I got a phone call this week stating that I owe 28K. There's no way I can come up with this kind of money, I have borrow all I can on my house and retirement. They told me it would be going to collections and they would get their money one way or another.
I guess my question is what can I do or what can they do? I don't have a problem making a payment a month if it is a reasonable payment, but to come up with 28k overnight thats impossible. Another question is how long do they have to come back on me after taking my camper and selling at an auction for 3000 dollars and add 4 years of interset to the total before I can say no?

It appears that they're well within the statute of limitations to collect the remaining money that you owe.

If they don't have a judgment, they can seek one and then employ judicial remedies to collect the money awarded (e.g., garnishment, execution).

If they have a judgment they may already use those tools.

Depending on your overall financial state, you may want to explore such options as negotiating a lesser payoff as payment in full, or consulting a bankruptcy lawyer.
