American Citizenship After Marriage

My question involves marriage law for the State of: Louisiana.
I have a female friend, who is from Honduras, who has lived in the U.S. for a few years, about 5, under a pass to work in the US. She recently married an American and has started her process (paperwork) to become a US citizen, by marriage. They were happy during their 2 year courtship, but now, she is suffering emotional and physical abuse by her husband. She has only been married for 4 months. Can she opt out of the marriage and still retain her status applying to become a US citizen? Or will both the marriage and US citizenship application both be annulled? Thanks for any advice.

Are you sure it's citizenship you're talking about?

What's her current visa status?

Yes, she is applying to be a US citizen through her marriage to an American. I helped her fill out some of it, the document, cause her husband was to lazy to help her. I think the form was G321 or something like that. I don't know about the visa status but I can find out.

If she's only been married to him for 4 months, she will not qualify for citizenship yet.

If she was a legal permanent resident BEFORE she got married, that might be a different story.
