Default Transfer of Venue from One State to Another

My question involves a child custody case from the State of:
My exhisband and I lived on Kentucky at the time of our divorce. That is also where our custody agreement was made. We both live in California now and I am looking to modify the agreement, is there a way to transfer the case to California without having to pay my lawyer to do it?

Sure. Figure out how to file the UCCJEA petition yourself, and complete that process successfully without your lawyer. Check the county law library or a law school library for a practitioner's guide to family law, and you will likely be able to find information and sample petitions.
