    Default How is a Sentence Determined

    My question involves criminal law for the state of: california

    if im found guilty of 100counts of distributing a marijuana does that mean ever count has a year sentenced?? so for example 1count is equivalent to 1 year does that mean i will be in prison for 100years??

    just wondering....

    wow, drugs really do screw with your mind.


    You don't have to go to jail at all unless the judge sentences you to jail. While he could order the terms to run consecutively, I cannot in any world think they would. More than likely you will be given one set term having given consideration to your cumulative crimes which would be closer to the one year than the 100.

    what do u mean by consecutively??

    seriously?


    consecutively- one following another. that means if you were sentenced to 1 year on each count to be served consecutively, you would actually serve 100 years


    concurrently- all running at the same time. that means if you are sentenced to serve 1 year on each of 100 counts served concurrently, you would serve 1 year
