If You're Not Prosecuted Do You Still Get a Criminal Record

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Kansas

I'm 20 years old, this is the first time I have been in any kind of trouble. I was caught shoplifting from Walmart, something under ten dollars. The LP guy was really nice and told me that they weren't pressing charges or calling the police but that I might receive a civil demand from Walmart asking to pay a fine, which is totally fine. My question is; is there any way this will show up on my record and keep me from getting a job in the future? and how much can I expect the fine to be and when can I expect it to be here? The LP guy said I was in Walmart's database but that it shouldn't affect me from getting a job but I just want to make sure.

Pay the Civil Demand immediately. Looks like $50. Wow, Kansas is cheap on their Civil Demand. Other states start at $150+.

Bear in mind, the store does have 1-2 years (varies by state) to file criminal charges.

Thanks! I plan on paying the fine as fast as possible, I really just want this behind me because I realize how stupid it was. If I pay it quickly and of course don't do anything to make walmart angry, will I possibly be okay? The LP guy told me I could still shop there and that I wasn't banned at all.
