My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: New Jersey
I work for Sears located in Lawrenceville NJ and have a problem with the guys who work in Loss Prevention. First Sears has an unwritten policy of hiring only While males to work in Loss Prevention where they are told to keep an eye on Black employees and Black shoppers. I work in the receiving area and it is wired for sound meaning Loss Prevention get to listen to private conversations of the workers in receiving but even worse than that Loss Prevention using the intercom system to make derogatory racial and sexual slurs where they zoom the cameras in on my face so they can see my reaction to the insults where I can then hear them saying "Awwwww". They also allow unauthorized people namely my co-workers to sit in front of the surveillance equipment and encourage
them to also make derogatory remarks where again I can hear them laughing. It's become accepted behavior for the all White Loss Prevention staff and the all White managers to gather in the surveillance room to watch and laugh at the Black employees. Loss Prevention also uses the cameras to zoom in on female employees and shoppers cleavage. I call the New Jersey Department of Justice with this situation and all the guy kept sying is that Sears has a right to use surveillance equipment and if it is so bad at Sears I should quit.
What are my legal options here?
