Divorce in Germany

Hello I am new here. The information I need I didnt find online so I thought I'd try here. I am a US citizeniving in germany got married in germany to an african. The divorce is filed for just a matter of 2-3 months I hope. I want to go back to the states ASAP. My question should I wait or can I go and do the rest in the states??
