My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: PA
2 days ago my car was repoed (they came at 230 AM and woke up my neighbors, such an awful experience, but that is besides the point). So yesterday I paid off the car in full including the repo fees. The finance company released the car to the Repo company, which was confirmed when I called their national number. Of course the local lot where the car is being kept closed at 1 PM yesterday so I was unable to pick up the car in time. Its obviously not illegal but it really sucks that they close at 1 PM and now I have to wait until Tuesday to pick up the car with the holiday weekend. When I called the national number they stated I would need to call Tuesday morning to make an appointment to pick up the car and I asked if it is possible that I couldnt get an appointment until Wednesday and she said it is possible. Her advice was to "play nice" when I call. The thought of paying for an extra day of storage is killing me. I was just wondering if I had any legal recourse at all here. Hopefully I can just get it on Tuesday, but would the State Police side with me if not? I am also worried about getting hit with a bunch of extra fees and what they did with my personal property inside the car. I have never had any repoed before, this is just awful. I was close to paying it off and it just slipped my mind about the payments. I am sure the company wanted the car because its worth about 3x what the payoff amount was at the time, which is why I just paid off the loan. I am most just venting here, but short of legal action does anyone know of a proper channel in logging a complaint against this company?
