Default Lawyer is Quitting a Worker's Comp Case

My question involves workers compensation law for the state of: TX

Fiance has had a SO CALLED legal rep representing her in her workers comp case.
she has been to every meeting she has been required to go to. done all testing required. all results pointed toward a simple in and out case.

for the last couple of months, we have been trying to get with him to see where the case has gone.
this so called lawyer has not answered/returned calls, emails, etc.

now we get a letter in the mail stating that he and his so called firm are no longer going to represent her. and that she needs to find another lawyer.
no mention of why or what has changed his mind to represent her. do we not deserve an answer????
we were in the final stretch, and now this carp drops her before the finish line?? typical

and to top it off, if we get a new lawyer, this doechebag is expecting payment for work rendered.
screw that, you failed in your mission, and payment for failure is NOTHING!

and whats more is that she was supposed to go to a final hearing last month and was NEVER told about it! he never even went either!!!
    this loser dropped the ball.
and now she has what? to start all over? to go get more testing? lose more time from work due to his failure as a lawyer??

    what are our options?
can we get this jerk? are there any ways to get this fool legally?
    what can be done?

    retain another lawyer.
this time get some recommendations from the state bar
TBLS filter or practice area set to "workers compensation"
