    Default Is a Will Necessary

My question involves estate planning in the state of: Georgia

My uncle and aunt are retired living comfortably in Georgia. All funds and bank accounts are in my uncle's name only with POD to my aunt.My uncle checks with
each institution regularly to make sure POD are still valid.
The only other (2) assets owned are a house and car. Both of these are titled to both uncle and aunt.
There are children on my uncle's side from a previous marriage.

In this case, is a will necessary?

    Thanks
    Harry

In my opinion, a will is always a good idea, even if it's just a simple, statutory will to clear up the disposition of anything not otherwise conveyed by law.

I understand we are talking different states,BUT,a will IS necessary in my opinion.Take what happened to me,After my only child,a daughter, married and moved out of our mobile home(read:house trailer),and 5 years later, after having a child etc.,my wife and I lucked into a deal on a stick built home,on 3 acres of land.My daughter had NOTHING,to do with the purchase, upkeep,or ANYTHING involved with this house,up to and including spending so much as 1 night under the roof of same. Two years later,my wife died suddenly.I kept the house for a couple years, but the memories were to sad and I sold it.According to La. law, since there was no will,it went into succesion. This worthless piece of "censored" got one half of the money, which was substantial since my wifes life insurance paid it off.She has since decided she should have gotten more and has stolen a couple thousand more. Why???bacause it was her mom!!!!I still cannot wrap my mind around this atrocitie called forced inheritance. But I will tell you this, for ONLY 50k,I have lost a daughter and 2 grandaughters who are not allowed to contact mean old Poppie.

    GET A WILL!!!!!!
