Default New Speeding Ticket Before Court Date

My question involves traffic court in the State of: Georgia
So I was put on traffic probation for four months for going 25 over the speed limit. It was a part of a diversion program so i wouldn't get points on my liscense. Well i had my last meeting with my probation officer and a court date was set. Well now i got a speeding ticket before I appeared for my court date. So my question is am i technically still on probation and do I have to report this to my probation officer? And if I do will I be taken off diversion and I'll get points for my original 25 over speeding ticket? It may be worth to note I'm 18

Yes, you are still technically on probation. You are generally on probation until you receive a discharge by the courts. They will likely find out about the ticket as the court will pull your MVR prior to your appearance to ensure you have fully complied. They could let it slide but it depends on the full facts. The fact you couldn't obey the law for 4 months is not going to win you any points. How far over were you popped for this time? Your age really has no bearing on the case.

Receiving a ticket and being CONVICTED are two different things. If you conviction date falls outside of your probation, the judge likely has no say in the matter.

Wait are you sure? My last court date for probation is June 19th and this new one will be July 30th. So you're telling me the June 19th judge won't know about this speeding ticket?

You can always pay for a transcription of your original hearing and see what the judge said. Every judge I've ever seen give probation to someone said the words "convicted of another violation".

So if i don't report this and it does get brought up at the court date will there be any added on punishments then the original ones of getting a speeding ticket on probation?

I do not believe you would be bound to report RECEIVING a ticket. Maybe it will get dismissed. Then what? It is always getting convicted of something that gets you into trouble when it comes to probation.
