Default Adult Child Doesn't Like Parents Household Rules and Restrictions

My question involves guardianship in the State of: North Carolina

I have a friend who's parents are being very wrongful in their actions. She is a collage student away from home during the school year, but is home for the summers. Before leaving for school her freshman year her parents evicted her in a very unjustifeied manner. They sent her to collage with hardly anything but clothes and a bed. With the help of friends, the issue was resolved and everything continued. Now they are threating to evict her again for what to me seems wrongful.
Overall her situation is that she does not have a key to the house, (because she can not be trusted) according to her parents. So during the day she is confined to the house and cannot leave the premisis. She is stuck at home doing large list of chores. Her parents are very overly strict, and have had child protection services called on them in the past. If they find out she has left the premisis, Without their concent (which is very rare). Than they will evict her from the premisis. They are also usuing her collage funding as sort of a blackmail in my opinion. If she does not live with them and abide by their rules, than her funding will be revoked. She wants to leave due to the high stress enviorment that her parents have created amongst their home, but cannot due to the threat of losing her collage funding. She is 19 and a legal adult, with an excellent academic record. She has been refused on many occasions time with her firends and other peers. She feels as though she is being mentally abused, held against her will, and blackmailed. Also I think that they are using the threat of eviction, and revoking of collage funding as blackmail to keep her inside the premisis working for nothing but food and lodging. I know this may just seem like a tough love secnario, but her parents do in fact treat her like trash.
So basically all I am wanting to know is are their any legal avenues to resolve her secnario?

I do apologize if this was posted in the wrong part of the forum, I did not know which category would be best suited for such.

    Thank You

She's a grown-up. If she doesn't like mom and dad's rules at home, she has the right to move out and support herself.

Sure. Legally, she is entitled to pack up her stuff and move right on out. Doesn't even have to look back if she doesn't want to.

Oh, wait, do you mean like take her parents to court to force them to change the rules of THEIR HOME to suit her? No. Not a chance.

Your friend would do well to understand that when you live under someone else's roof, accept their support, and accept their hard earned money to further your education, you abide by their rules. If you want to make your own rules, you GTFO, get a job, and pay for everything your owndamnedself, because once you turn 18, your parents aren't legally obligated to do a single thing for your benefit.
