My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Washington / New York
Applied for a sales job in Washington State. Company has 30M in sales.....relatively small. Received an offer letter. So I get the background check form to sign and send back.
In 2007 I was convicted of my 1st DUI in the state of Pa. Five months later I was pulled over in NY State (with the Pa license) and charged with DWUI......so like a complete moron I skip the the court date in NY(I was getting a divorce at the time, nervous breakdown....blah, blah). They never sent me any paperwork to my residence in Pa regarding the incident, no Bench Warrant was sent etc...... The NY State Trooper called me about two years ago, I returned the call.....he never called back (both of us left messages).
So I get my act together last fall and FINALLY pay the Pa. DUI fine......they reinstatement my license. The Probation Officer ran my license and said there were no outstanding charges or warrants on my record. The Pa conviction was expunged per ARD. My questions is will the NY charge show up on a background check? How does Pa. give me my license back if there are pending DWUI charges in a neighboring state (NY)? There is reciprocity.
