Default Failure to Stop, No Ticket

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: NC

Hello everyone. So today I got pulled over for not stopping completely at a stop sign. This is the first time I have ever been pulled over for anything. The officer took my license and registration and went back to his car. He came back a minute later and handed me back my stuff and said to "drive safe". But he did not give me a ticket. Now my question is, even though he did not physically hand me a ticket, or say anything about a fine, can I expect to get something in the mail later? I am really hoping I got off easy, but with everything being digital now, should I expect to get cited even though he did not mention anything about it?

While he can certainly charge you later, it would be uncommon for him to do so. He most likely went back to check that your license and registration were otherwise valid and you dodged a ticket.

Man, that is a relief. Thanks so much for quick the response.
