Finding Someone Who Passed Away

My question involves estate proceedings in the state of: PA and CA

I was not sure where to post this but since it has to do with wills I figured this was the best option.

My wifes biological family is quite wealthy and her dad, grandmother, and brother have all passed away in the last year. I have already started a thread about her dad but was curious how to track down information about her other relatives. She was close with some of them but the guy her mother remarried before she was born HATES her real dad and until she was 16 was told they were already dead. After she found out they were alive he did everything to keep her from that family including lying to everyone and starting drama.

Her "grandmother" lived in PA but remarried and we dont know who or when. They were not blood related but were very close until she remarried. We know she passed away but dont know how to find her. Last we knew she lived in PA but might have moved. We know she left my wife her 4 million dollar ring and the money from a sold estate.

Her brother lived in CA and worked at LAX last time she talked to him. We were told he passed away but cant confirm it.

How do we go about finding these people? We have searched online but cant find anything.

We dont have SS numbers for any of them and not sure of her dads parents names or her brothers place of birth. We are going to try to figure it out but is there any other way to find someone?
