All your hints about the production lead me to this, so assuming the rights were held by Hanna-Barbera (as opposed to the network) the point of contact would appear to be Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

Yes, that is what I am taking about. I will start with them, thanks! I don't expect a response, though. I've tried asking a big company for permission and usually get ignored.

Would it still be OK to post a few lines to the songs on my review anyway? I posted it on IMDB, but edited my post there, too. I will remove any reference to contacting me for more of the lyrics. Also, I originally had all five parts of the YouTube version embedded, but took three parts down because I felt that posting all five parts falls outside of fair use. Would there be a problem if I embedded all five parts?

I would also like to beg them to re-release the special or put it out on DVD. . Though the animation is nothing like today's, this is a life changing work for me and many others.

ETA: they've added way more information on this since the last time I visited, I now see three more people involved with the music and a lot more animators listed.

OK, so I went to the WB website and contacted their customer service center for legal (I don't have IMDB pro, so I couldn't get the exact contact information from there and didn't want to waste a two week free trial so that I could get it), but haven't gotten a response. My experience is that when big organizations have to dig deep into their archives to find something for something like this, they will just ignore you. I am hoping to get, at least, some response and, at least, a quote on a licensing fee. I told them that if this wasn't possible, I hope they would consider re-releasing this special, especially since the 40th anniversary is coming up this October.

If not, I'll just have to live with a few lines and a statement saying that I can't post all the lyrics due to copyright reasons and leave it at that.

But, I really want to convince them to re-release this even if it means I (and anyone else who is interested) might have to buy a whole season of Specials to get it. I think this film has a good message that today's generation should hear even though the animation is not the same as what you see today. Is there a way to drum up some interest and support for re-releasing this special? Should I also contact ABC about it?
