Angry No Show for a Rescheduled Ticket

My question involves traffic court in the State of: Sacramento, California

Ok so I got a ticket for speeding. I came on the day of my court, and I had to wait 2 hours for the Traffic court to start. I checked in but I had something come up so I left. But right after I checked in I called the court and spoke to the clerk and said if she can reschedule. She rescheduled it and told me to come in 30 days, I told her that I just checked in and couldn't make it and she still told me just to come around 30 days. Few weeks later I check and I got a no show. What am I suppose to do now? It wasn't my mistake but the clerks.

Take some responsibility for your own actions. It was your mistake. Leaving the court before seeing the judge was not the right thing to do. Was what 'came up' more important than potential jail time over a traffic infraction? Are you really all that surprised that you got a no show warrant for NOT showing up?

That said, go back to the court and ask to be seen on the docket. You likely will not be arrested since you showed up on your own. However, if you're pulled over, you may spend up to 3 days in jail waiting to see the judge if you get pulled over on a Saturday. They don't generally let you see a judge on Mondays. It's your choice.

Did you get the clerk's name? Probably not!

Whether you checked in or not, you weren't there when your name was called. If that was the date shown on your citation, you failed to appear as required. The court will normally send you a second courtesy notice which by law must give you an additional 10 days from the appearance date to either pay or appear. So I'm not sure how you come up with the clerk telling you to return in 30 days, it does not make any sense. Because even is he/she did tell you to return in 30 days, a few days later you would have received the letter giving you 10 days!

Lay off the stories... Go back to court, request an appearance and see what the judge wants you to do. You may have to pay additional failure to appear fines, and in the meantime do not drive as there is a chance your license maybe suspended!
I am right 97% of the time... Who cares about the other 4%!
