The facts being what? Your state being what?

The short answer would be "You can leave her with a suitable person, given her needs and the underlying facts."

I posted the facts before but it never posted them. Broken forum.

The facts are.... My mother has been leasing an apartment with me and the lease runs out in Nov.. I have to move out of State at that point to owner occupy a new property and my mother has dementia so she cannot stay alone in the apartment or renew her lease.

I am planning to leave her with my Sister who is about 10 minutes away. Can I legally just drop her off there and go? Even if my sister wouldnt want me to do it ? She has no other family here.

"Hey Mom, Happy Mother's Day! I'm dumping you off at Sis's and hitting the bricks, even though Sis said No! Bye!"

    Seriously?

No, you cannot just dump your mother off at your sister's without your sister's consent. Either put the poor woman in a care facility, or take her with you.

    Yes "SERIOUSLY" you idiot.

I've taken care of my mother for 8 years you piece of ****ing ignorant shit while my Sister has done nothing. So before you ASSUME things you know nothing about you should maybe think before talking.

No, you cannot just dump your mother off at your sister's without your sister's consent.
I can't? Why not? Says who? What makes me responsible?

Either put the poor woman in a care facility, or take her with you.
How about I drop her off with you instead since you seem so eager to take care of her? I am sure you'd be be overjoyed. No? Not interested?

Again - why is it my responsibility? She's a person unto herself. I don't have to take her anywhere when she has family here. I don't have guardianship.
And the fact that you're telling me to take an 85 y/o woman with dementia on a 2,600 mile trip away just shows how truly stupid you are. I probably don't even have the legal right to do something like that.

Care facility takes TIME (which I do not have). It can take up to a year to even get approved for Medicaid and I sure as hell am not signing any retroactive papers making ME responsible for tens of thousands of dollars worth of nursing home bills should medicaid be rejected.

If you want people to tell you that it's okay to surprise your sister by dumping your elderly mother on her doorstep because you hate her (or is it that you hate both of them) you're in the wrong forum.

Had you followed the instruction to identify your state, somebody might be able to point you to some resources.

Just to confirm, you are NOT currently your mother's legal guardian, correct?
