Can the Child Support Payee Forgive Arrears

My question involves child support in the State of: Oregon

My former wife is willing to forgive the arrears I owe - primarily because she now is finally willing to admit that we made a verbal agreement to lower it years ago. A mistake on my part to do that verbally, but live and learn. Can she agree to forgive it, or will the state not allow that?

If you owe your wife (versus the state), then she can forgive the arrears.

If you owe the state, the state will not generally forgive the arrears - even if that's what your ex would want.
