Default What Do Creditors Have to Provide to the Credit Bureaus

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Georgia

I am disputing some things on my credit reports, many of them are debts that have been bought from other creditors and opened 5 or more years after the original debt was last payed on. Others are things that are just not accurate. What do creditors have to provide to the credit bureaus as proof of the debt and what are the credit bureaus required to give me as proof that they have verified the items in question?

Creditors have to say, "Joe Smith owes $X under [terms]". If the report is challenged, credit bureaus must inquire with the creditors to see if the report is correct. "Yes" is an adequate reply. If the creditor informs the CRA that incorrect information is, in fact, correct, you can explore your recourse against that creditor.
