Default Contesting Arrears After the Child is 18

My question involves child support in the State of: North Carolina
My court ordered monthly support is 451.000 with 45.00 going to arrears. After my daughter turns 18 in June, from what I understand, I would only have my arrears of 45.00. My daughter's mother has contacted child support enforcement and apparently I will be receiving an order to pay arrears in the amount of 451.00. I am ok with paying more but of course I'd rather pay a lesser amount. Is this something that I can contest?

It's common for the amount to remain the same if it's all going to arrears.

Just think of it this way - your arrears will be paid off MUCH sooner. (Ten times sooner, it seems!)

    Exactly!!!!

    Arrears means
    1) Negative score on your credit report.
    2) Possible Passbook denial
    3) Possible Driver Licence revoke
    4) Tax refund garnishment

Pay that off as soon as possible. You'll sleep a little bit better at nights once it is 100% done.
