How Quickly Can a Landlord Evict You

My question involves an eviction in the state of: Connecticut.


Hi my name is Mike. I currently rent a small house and have fallen on hard times and have fallen behind on my rent. I have no lease. My landlord came to me this morning and told me forget about the money he wants me out in 3 days. Of course I cant find a new place. What can I do ? Can he simply come in and put my stuff out and padlock the doors? What action do I need to take if any to get a month or two to find a place to go ? Any help would b appreciated, Thank You

The landlord can serve a three-day notice on you for failing to pay your rent.

Did he simply tell you "I want you out in three days" or did he serve you with written notice? Although I have not checked to see if other forms are permitted, most landlords would use the standard notice form: Form JD-HM-7. You also must be a minimum number of days due on your rent, but if we're talking April rent then that's not an issue.

I owe $700 for April and $700 as of today for May. He simply said I want u out in 3 days. He never gave me anything in writing
