My question involves real estate located in the State of: Washington
Hi, I have have a question regarding my responsibilities in regards to a tree on my property. My neighbor is asking me to remove a large cherry tree that is beginning to encroach on his fence foundation. My neighbor told me that it was damaging the fencing foundation and it needed to be removed. This is a great tree that provides shade to my house and I want to keep it. It is from my point of view against the property line but it has not pushed onto the neighboring property. The neighbor also mentioned cutting back whatever was on her side of the fence. The majority of the branches are on that side and I believe it would kill the tree. As well the fence itself is falling apart... I have made several Patch jobs (Chicken wire stapled to the wood fencing) to allow for my pets to even be let out of the house. To top it all off this is a renter making these demands. I own my own home and want to know what I can do and what my rights are in this situation. I thank you for your consideration.
