How to Apply Green Card for My Parents (G4 Visa)

Hi,

I have a question about my parents' visa. They are holding G4 visa now (through my sister). I am a green card holder now. I am planning to apply green card for my parents once I am a citizen. Can I file I-130 while my parents are inside US?

I know there is no problem to file I-130 if they are outside US. But for G visa, I do not know whether it is feasible to file I-130 while they are inside US. Some website says yes, some says no. I am totally confused.

Speaking generally, you can petition to adjust their status as members of your immediate family, but keep in mind that the g4 visa is a nonimmigrant visa. Once they declare their intention to immigrate, they should not travel internationally while the process is pending as they would likely find themselves unable to return to the United States.

You haven't linked to any of the websites that say "yes" or "no", and perhaps they turn on facts relevant to the questioners, or on facts relevant to your situation that are not known to us. There may also be consequences to filing the required I-508 waiver of rights form (waiving any rights, privileges and exemptions that their G-4 visa provides to them) in association with attempting to adjust their status. It would not be unwise for them to consult an immigration lawyer.
