How Do I Remove a Felony Theft Charge from My Record

My question involves criminal records for the state of: Illinois It's been 16 years since I was convicted of this charge,Iwas wondering how to go about getting it removed or expunged from my record. I've had only 1 traffic ticket since then and nothing in the past 5 years. I've lost several job opportunities because of this problem,2 just this week.

Can't be done. Felonies are not eligible to be expunged with the exception of certain controlled substance and prostitution convictions.
You can try getting a pardon from the governor.
