Back HOA Fees

My question involves a condominium located in the State of: Florida. I recently received an invoice from my HOA showing an error back in 2010. Saying that I owe the $154.29 HOA fee for May. Which hasn't been on any of the other invoices I have received and isn't on the purchase papers. Can they do this considering they said all back fees were paid when the previous owner sold me the Condo?

Ask them for an accounting and, if the fees predate your purchase, why they stated that the account was paid in full as of the closing date.
