Photo Enforced Red Light Ticket in D.C.

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: District of Columbia

I rec'd a speed camera ticket from D.C. for $150!! I'm a CA resident temporarily living in Baltimore. Do I have to pay this? It says the penalty for nonpayment is DMV can refuse to register your car IF you're registered in D.C.

I am not.

And no points go on my license...I've researched this and encountered different advice. Some sites say it's ok to ignore it.

What do I do if I receive a ticket in the mail?

A ticket issued through the District of Columbia's Automated Traffic Enforcement Program is the same as any other moving ticket issued within the city limits. You may pay the fine, which is an admission of guilt, adjudicate the citation via mail or request a hearing. Adjudication for photo-enforced violations is handled at the Department of Motor Vehicles, Adjudication Services, located at 301 C Street, NW. Specific instructions are included on the back of each NOI that is mailed. Failure to respond to the ticket, either by paying the fine or requesting a hearing within the specified time frame, can result in additional fees and penalties. Telephone or mail responses are encouraged.

Sorry..I screwed up. It's a speed camera ticket for one of those "work zones." They will designate an arbitrary part of the highway as a "work zone', lower the speed limit, then trap people who aren't paying attention with these photo tickets. I was going 65 which is normal highway speed, but because they made that area's speed limit 50.
