Default Ability to Train in Hospital with a Criminal Record

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Arizona

Generally speaking, what crimes would prevent a student from training at a hospital, tough question

I guess. The training would be mostly observational (no direct patient care). Or maybe what

type of things generally prevent a person from working in a hospital ??

It was a agg Dui , there was no accident. I have 4 yrs of alcohol free u/a's soon to be discharged from probation

then I will attempt to have the conviction set-aside, Az auto returns voting, jury, etc on first felonies assuming

successful completion of Probation (which isn't easy btw, got me to quit drinking & smoking also)......Thanks

Nobody can answer your question other than a specific employer in question. It's up to them to decide whether your criminal conviction makes you unemployable for them.

well, lol you would think this would be delineated within the law.I always hear its insurance related. I know the OIG
exclusion list prevents ANYONE from working in healthcare, I don't know about these "non-felonious felonies",
LOL, thats what I call them....Thanks for the response.

Continue to work on your sobriety and completing probation. (BTW, you should be commended for quitting too debilitating addictions.) When the time comes to petition to expunge your record, you should promptly do so.

With respect to your conviction and your present job prospects, all you can do is apply and be straightforward with HR. If an employer will not hire anyone who has a felony conviction, then you will likely not be successful. If, however, the employer has a more ad hoc approach in evaluating applicants with criminal backgrounds, you may be able to successfully explain that you made a mistake, are in the process of paying your debt to society by completing probation, and have remained sober for four years. If you are otherwise a competitive candidate, you may be able to convince such an employer to hire you.

Felony convictions are basically a death sentence, they really need to re-evaluate this, its just far more
damaging than in the past, its all but impossible for someone to exist which obviously is a detriment to society.
Its all up to the judge I guess, you would think it would be automatic, since your other rights are automatically
restored, but who knows. It seems the mentality of the legal system (judges, lawyers,LEO) refuses to move into
modernity ! Thanks btw for the good words !!
