What Happens During Discovery in a Chapter 7 Asset Case

My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: California.

I may be going through Discovery in the next 30 days and was wondering what is involved. Will they be coming to my home and taking an inventory of my assets? As they allowed to open drawers and cabinets?

To be clear, we are talking about a Rule 2004 examination that is being done by the U.S. Trustee's Office? "What's involved" depends on the facts - if the trustee suspects you've lied on your scheduled, or have failed to disclose assets or transfers of your assets, there can be serious consequences if those suspicions are substantiated.
