My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Illinois

I am prior service using my military Gi Bill. On February 1, 2010 four different debts were put in my name by Veterans Affairs for over $15,000 (I was only in school for less than four months at this time). After doing research and collecting all the information, I found out that my college reported inaccurate information to Veterans Affairs that I was not attending school when I really was (which I have my transcripts proving it). So my school was over-paid tuition among other things and the loans were put in my name for some reason. Due to this, my taxes were offset this year (2012) and my credit is beyond screwed up. I did write and submit all the information to the original creditor stating that it was my schools fault and I also submitted all my evidence to the four collection agencies, but they are still contacting me. What can I do about this if anything?

If you’re wondering why I am now just doing something about this it’s because my school told me everything will equal out in the end when I graduate. I am hitting my head against the wall everyday for listening to them. But luckily I saved EVERYTHING and I’m hoping I still have some rights and fight this mess. Please help =/
