My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of New Mexico.
My sister purchased a used car from a shady dealership with a 26% interest rate. The car has a little black box on it that shuts the car off if payment is not made. THey give her a numeric code each week that she pays so the car does not shut off. The cars bluebook is $3900 she bought it for $9500. She lost her keys to the car and asked the dealership if they had a spare, the dealership owner went over and got a key, but the alarm was disabled. He said he would get with her tomorrow and she said she would call him from work. She went out to the car later and found a locksmith and worker from the dealership gaining entry in her car. She told them she had found someone cheaper to do it and that she never gave them permission to enter the car. At this point the lady became irate and started yelling at her things like, "you are a spoiled brat, fu** you" She threatened to take the car from my sister and continued to fight with her the whole time. My sister called the owner who came down and had to yell at his employee to leave. THis employee is the one my sister has to deal with every week and she is scared now. Is there any recourse?
