Entry in United States on B1/B2 Visa

i am in united states on b1/b2 visa ,i came here on 24 oct2011 and i m going back on 23 april2012.i am a doctor preparing my usmle steps and here i got married too.my husband is pr and soonly he will get citizenship.he already filled my i-130 form in feb 2012.so i want to know that can i come back from india on 15 may,can poe officer give me stay 0f 6 month.if i told him mainly my reason is coming back is my exam .can anybody help me and tell me the right way....

If you come six months before your exam is to be held, I cannot promise you that the immigration officer is going to approve a six month tourist stay pending the exam - they may well suggest that you could schedule your entry closer to the exam date.

Also, with an I-130 filed you have declared immigrant intent, so entering on a tourist visa could be very problematic - to enter as a tourist you must declare that you do not intend to immigrate.

I am in the same boat..came here on b1/b2 on Nov 1, 2011 but I was already married to a PR...I came here for medical rotations (clerkships). My wife is PR and she too is doing rotations. I applied for step 1 in june and CS in september and requested an extent of stay for the purpose of exams and rotations..also my wife is pregnant due in august. initially i was going back on April 20, but i got accepted for 2 more rotations for july and august. So thought I would stay back till october. I believe my wife is becoming a citizen, She din't apply for I-130 yet.
When does your husband become a citizen??
