My question involves business law in the state of: Connecticut
Over the course of the last 8 years, I realize that I have not billed clients for multiple projects, totalling thousands of dollar. Additionally, in trying to get my financials in order, I now realize that I was never paid for inovoices that were submitted over the course of the last several years, also totalling thousands of dollars.
My two part question is, 1) Is there a time limit to bill for services rendered (and yes I do have proof of doing the work) and 2) Is there a time limit to pay for services rendered and/or if they claim they never received a bill, does that release them from obligation to pay?
I realize that this is mostly my own doing as I became so busy over the years with demanding work and raising a family, that my billing suffered, and now that the economy is not so good and my work is slow, I finally have the time to sit down and sort through it, and boy is it a mess. Bottom line is, I did the work, I can prove I did the work.. can I still get paid?![]()
