Rear Ended by an "Unauthorized Driver"

I am from PA. I was rear-ended in DC by the "cousin" of the owner of the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle claims the "cousin" didn't have his permission to use his vehicle. The owners insurance company is investigating this, but I am interested in what recourse I have to recoup the costs this unauthorized driver caused me. I had to pay almost $400 to have my car towed home, and almost $300 for a one-way car rental to get home. If I have to file an uninsured motorist claim, I'll likely also be out my $250 deductible.

What can I do to recoup my costs?

At this time neither myself or my passenger have serious injuries, nor do I have full tort insurance. This is more of a property and loss question rather than a medical question.

Any ideas of what options I have?

Yes. At this point the car hasn't been reported stolen. The owner just claims his cousin has no permission to use the car. In pa the car is insured not the owner persay. I'm not even saying I want to sue anyone. I just want to know my options. Why should I be liable for costs someone elses vehicle caused me when I was sitting still? Put yourself in my shoes instead of being a troll right away.

The vehicle did no damage to you. The guy behind the steering wheel did. That is who is liable for your damages.
