Default Violation on Ticket Does Not Match Online Process Payment

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: VA
Citation Code Section: (82-2-3) on computerized printed summons from Officer.

When I went to pay online, not only was there additional court costs added to the fee,
but the Citation Code Section was incorrectly listed as: (46.2-830)

I would have been perfectly fine with paying a $30.00 fine online, which the officer told me it was at the time of stop,
but not when they are going to jack up fees as well.

Should I go before the judge and plead my case with the charge being different than the citation and hope for a prayer for judgement on dismissing it? Doesn't seem to hurt since they have already decided to charge me court fees as well.

And "82-2-3" references what? An ordinance for whatever jurisdiction you were in when you received the ticket?

46.2.830 involves disobeying traffic signs, signals, or markings. Does that sound like what you were cited for? If so, I'm thinking the online site simply lists the state code instead of the local code version. It is even possible that the local code references the state code. But, without knowing what code 82.2.3 is from, it is impossible to say.

You aren't getting out of the costs. If you have +5 you might get the $30 waived but the $50+ in costs is going to stay.
