My question involves criminal records for the state of: TEXAS
Five years ago i got caught shoplifting for a class B misdemeanor.i ask to have a lawyer since i couldnt afford one.but he didnt explain to me the dangers of pleading guilty for a misdemeanor class b.like losing your permanent resident passport.having few opportunities landing a dead end job.judge didnt give me no community service or anything.he just wanted me to go to my P.O. and pay 75$ a month until the 200$ were up i never did that.my P.O. didnt send a warrant for my arrest.the case is still open i mean employers can look at it from public records.so my question was,is their anyway to seal or close or even expunge my class B misdemeanor shoplifting/theft???i did this 5 years ago.i just dont want wherever i go apply for them to look at public records an their i show up.at least have it seal for a month and then open my records again because i get the jobs right away interviews, tests i pass them with good scores but when they get to my history and my records they dont even want to hired me...is their any way??can somebody please answer me this?its urgent and also im going to renew my resident card do i have to put i have a misdemeanor?an i f i dont will i be disqualify???
Sincerely,
