My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: New York

After nearly 6 weeks of interviews, drug testing, background check, etc. a friend was finally hired by a major corporation. She has been employed there for roughly 1 month. In that time, she worked her tail off, traveled for the company, brought work home, etc. The other day was was called in and given a "thank you" card and a gift certificate and was told that her work is exemplary and her trip on behalf of the company was very successful. Two days later, she was called into the office again and told that she has been a wonderful employee - smart, a good worker, dependable, great work ethic, etc., but that she was not fitting into the corporate profile and that they were letting her go. Their line was: "It's not you, it's us." Naturally, she is devastated, as well as unemployed. Does she have any recourse? I have never heard of such a thing, nor has anyone she's explained this to.

I appreciate any advice you can give me to forward to her.
