Neighbor planted trees that cross the property line

Our neighbor continues to plant trees / shrubs that extend over the property line onto our fence. They are rubbing aginst our fence and have the potential to cause damage. Despite our request to either keep the limbs trimmed to stay off our fence or move the plantings, they do nothing. What are our rights to trim the limbs ourselves?

If the trees are actually on your property, you need to write a demand letter that they be removed or you will remove them. Be sure you have had a survey performed and send the letter CRRR. If the fence is slightly on your property you have an issue with going on theirs to perform maintenance.
