Default Custody in Ohio with involving the Courts

I am 17 and a mother of a 1 month old infant. I live with my mother and my fiance' who is 19. My mother is planning on kicking him out. My fiance and I have talked about giving him complete custody of our daughter until I am 18 this way my mother can not take our daughter from me like she has been planning since before I had my daughter. Is there a way I can give complete custody of my daughter to her father without involving the courts and it be legal?

There's no requirement that you go through the courts. However if you don't involve the courts, you risk your mother seeking a guardianship over the infant.
