Does an invitation letter from a sponsor in the U.S. need to be notarized? I was told an invitation letter from a sponsor is needed for a visa interview and I was wondering how it should be authenticated.

By "sponsor", you mean somebody who has executed a Form I-134 on your behalf?

If you're talking about a letter from a friend or family member asking you to visit, whether for a vacation or special event, there's no standard form "invitation letter", let alone one that would require notarization.
