My question involves criminal records for the state of: Texas
When I first moved into my apt with my gf, there was an incident where our roommate left her dog out one day and it did the bathroom in the living room, both number one and number two. I spanked the dog 3 times so it wouldn't do it again and cleaned up the mess. Then 7 months later I'm no longer in a relationship with the gf I moved in with. So one weekend me and my ex gf get into an argument and then Monday night a police officer shows up and says he has been called by a roommate. Confused, I think he has the wrong apt. and then my roommate comes out of her room fuming and says that I abused her dog and I'm going to pay. Apparently my ex gf was mad enough that she told our other roommate that I hit her dog and this lady is one that over reacts to everything and she called the cops. I tried to explain to the police officer my side of the story and asked him what was going to happen and he just said that he was gonna make a report. I am really concerned because I do not believe I have committed a crime and I am about to graduate from College with a bachelors in Criminal Justice and I will soon be applying to jobs as a police officer and state trooper. Both my roommate and ex gf know that I am about to graduate and I honestly feel that they are trying to hurt my career. My question is will this incident come up in my background checks when I apply for jobs as a police officer or trooper?
